First off, thank you all for your thoughts, kind words and support both now, and through the years of my broadcast career.
I was waiting until I at least went back and cleared the shit out of my locker at my former place of employment before addressing it publicly, but I have been getting alot of inquiries now that the information is making it’s way around.
Yes, I was terminated by Citadel Communications.
Yes, it was corporate downsizing, and due to the amount money I made.
During the 24 years of my career struggling through the broadcast school student load payments, struggling through the shit wages of small market due paying gigs, struggling through the years of getting fired while trying to discover and forge my personality on the air, struggling through the moving from city to city with lost girlfriends along the way, struggling to get by in the bigger markets of expensive larger cities that were “career opportunities” not “money making ventures”, my ultimate goal was to find my niche, make a decent living to finally support myself and my family, and maybe reap a few rewards from the moving from city to city during the struggling years to justify them. Which I was finally able to do here the last few years at “home” in Oklahoma City.
Like anyone I’m sure, once things seem to be going great…
Then in true radio fashion…
Someone who makes four times the amount of money I make, fires me for making too much money.
The up side is, I’m no longer struggling, and no longer moving from city to city as a slave to this bottom feeding industry.
I really did love my job, and what I do for a living.
So for now this will be the best way to keep in touch with me, this is the only myspace page that is a direct link to me.
Thank you all again for your support, and also thanks for listening to my show…it was a fucking blast trying entertaining you with the stupid stories of my distorted daily life, Ed Zachary calls, crazy nonsensical ramblings, twisted political views, and sometimes those days where I just felt like pissing you off.
Sadly I think “entertainment on the radio” is becoming a lost art form. As an “artist” and thanks to you all, at the very least, I do feel appreciated in my time.
And when someone mentions to you that “The Bladerunner got fired because he said FUCK on the radio”…I’m cool with you not correcting them.
See ya later there ya little monkey.
