Yoko Ono and The Flaming Lips (as the Plastic Ono Band) will be the musical guests on “Late Show with David Letterman” (CBS, 10:35pm CST) tonight, playing music off Ono’s new album, Take Me To The Land Of Hell. Kerry Washington and Ariel Tweto will also be guests on the show.
PrefixMag.com has a good synopsis of all the Lips current projects, minus Wayne Coyne’s comic books:
Elsewhere in Lipsville, Wayne Coyne has been working on 7,000 different projects: a Stone Roses cover album (a la their Dark Side of the Moon and In The Court Of The Crimson King cover albums), an EP of songs inspired by the upcoming Ender’s Game movie, and a split covers EP with Tame Impala. The EP will feature the fearless freaks doing Tame Impala covers and vice versa – “Runway, Houses, City, Clouds” and “Elephant” (!!!) is confirmed to be on the EP on the Lips’ side, and speculation has Tame Impala covering “Are You A Hypnotist??” and “Silver Trembling Hands” – songs they’ve been playing live lately. The EP will only be four songs, sadly. (If only a full album!)
Also, Wayne Coyne has a new Instagram account, where he’ll post more wonderful images of the Womb, Oklahoma bands, upcoming projects, dead animals, and nude humans.
