NONzine was a twice-a-month arts magazine based in Oklahoma City, from February 2006 to December 2008.
In the mid-1990s, NONzine editor and publisher Michael Taber and co-founder Adrian Fallwell met in Norman while Taber was the editor of a montly publication doublethink. Fallwell was a contributor to doublethink, which shuttered in 2000.
Founded in February 2006, the first issue of NONzine was 16 pages deep. The paper would swell to 24 to 48 pages, depending upon the issue. A September 2006 issue, featuring 6,000 printed copies, featured cover art and illustrations by Wayne Coyne (The Flaming Lips).
Printing costs and a lack of sales staff pushed the publication into nearly $15,000 in debut in 2008. Its final print issue was published in December 2008. Continuing as an online publication was briefly considered, but ultimately never came to fruition.
